Xander tells how he came to Portishead and what he likes about it

I’m Xander, I go to Gordano School, my favourite animal is a wolf and I like trees. My full name is Alexander Vaughan James Hall but I prefer to be known as Xander. I was born in Yatton, two months early so I was in hospital for a while when I was born. I came to Portishead from Yatton when I was two. My Dad’s family live in Wales, or did and my mum’s family live in the Somerset area. Th reason we chose Portishead is that it is in the middle. Two things I like about Portishead is the Lake Grounds because it is a sort of wild life area and I like the ducks and things. I also like the Marina because my school was right next to the Marina and we could always see it, there are always things going on a round there. My memory of being a aware that I was in Portishead is that we had just moved here ands there were poppies in the garden so I remember the poppies. I went to Church Tots but I don’t really remember that at all. I used to go to the Methodist church rather than St. Peter’s church. I came here for a choir concert once a year and with cubs so we changed from the Methodist church to this one.
