It was one of the first times we had the developers and the council and representatives of the University of the West of England on a committee that was set up to design the public art and a certain amount of money was set aside by Crest Nicholson in the Section 106 agreement that was specifically for public art. This committee was given the responsibility for public art, and it did not go to planning. The principle of the public art went to the planning committee, and they approved the principle of public art but the actual public art in each case was never put before a planning committee. It was actually put before this committee, which had high representatives of Crest Nicholson, the idea being that each of the groups of houses would have a locality, an icon of some description or a statue that they could relate to.
