Oral History strand

The Storyboat 700+ project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, commemorated 700 years of St Peter's church. Its aim was to recognise the changing nature of Portishead and the role that St Peter's church has played in its heritage and as a central part of the growing community.

We have recorded local people, young and old and gathered their stories before they are lost forever. You can now hear excerpts from them on this website and engage in the story of Portishead and the parish of St Peter's Church, where there is 'No Such Thing as Strangers.'
